This Privacy Policy explains what information Golden Lockpick ("we", "us", the "tool") collects when you use the website at gothic-golden-lockpick-tool.com and the Golden Lockpick desktop application, how that information is used, and who it is shared with. Golden Lockpick is an independent, fan made quality of life tool for the single player Gothic 1 Remake. It is not affiliated with the makers of Gothic.
To use the tool you sign in with an email address. We store that email address and a unique account identifier so we can recognize you, track how many free chests you have used, and apply any license you purchase.
The tool records anonymous, aggregate usage counters, such as the number of locks opened, moves made, and time saved. These power the live statistics shown on the website. Lock combinations you enter are processed only to open the lock and are not stored after use.
When you buy a license, payment is handled entirely by our third-party payment processor, Gumroad. We never see or store your full card details. We receive only confirmation of your purchase and the license tied to your account. Gumroad's handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy.
When you visit the website we use privacy friendly Vercel Web Analytics, which collects aggregated visit data (such as page views and referrers) without using tracking cookies and without identifying you personally. Our servers may also log standard technical information such as IP address and browser type for security and to keep the service running.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

The website does not use advertising or cross site tracking cookies. We may use essential local storage or cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. Embedded third party content (such as the YouTube video) may set its own cookies if you interact with it.
We keep account and license data for as long as your account exists or as needed to provide the tool and meet legal and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time using the contact details below.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Golden Lockpick is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear on the website.
