These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Golden Lockpick website and desktop application (together, the "tool"). By downloading, installing, or using the tool, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the tool.
Golden Lockpick is an independent, fan made quality of life tool that solves the lockpicking minigame in the single player Gothic 1 Remake. It reads the lock you enter and sends ordinary keystrokes to open the chest. It does not modify game files. Golden Lockpick is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the makers, publishers, or rights holders of Gothic.
Golden Lockpick includes a free tier that lets you open a limited number of chests at no cost. Continued or unlimited use requires a paid license. Subject to these Terms and your payment of any applicable license fee, we grant you a personal, non exclusive, non transferable, revocable license to download and use the tool for your own personal, non commercial use.
You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, rent, or share your license or the tool, and you may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to bypass its licensing, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
Golden Lockpick is free to download and to try: you can open a limited number of chests without paying. To unlock continued or unlimited use, you purchase a license. Purchases are processed by our third-party payment provider, Gumroad, and are subject to their terms. Prices may change from time to time and offers may be limited in time or availability. The price you pay is the price shown at checkout.
Because a free tier is available so you can confirm the tool works before paying, purchases are generally non refundable once made. If you experience a genuine problem, contact us and we will try to make it right. Any refunds are handled through our payment provider. Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory refund rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
We may update, change, or discontinue the tool or any feature at any time. We do not guarantee that the tool will be available at all times or that it will be compatible with future versions of the game or your operating system.
The tool is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non infringement. You use the tool at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Golden Lockpick and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, save files, or progress, arising out of or related to your use of the tool. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the tool in the twelve months before the claim or USD 25.
We may suspend or terminate your license if you breach these Terms. On termination, your right to use the tool ends and you must stop using it.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the tool after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
